Bargain basement FET

I'm absolutely floored by how "cheap" this FET is compared to the fresh cycle.  The clinic sent me a quote of $1441.39 for the transfer (including thawing, culture, ultrasound and transfer).  I got my meds yesterday and they were only $79!  I guess all the Follistim and Menopur and other non-covered drugs add up on a fresh cycle.  Even if we don't end up with a take home baby, our wallets will get a break this cycle.

  1. That's great news. I've got 5 frosties myself, and I know that my clinic's costs are around $2000 for the whole procedure. Totally better than the $15,000 spent on the fresh!

  2. It is kind of crazy to think how 'cheap' an FET cycle is! The expensive part of a fresh IVF cycle is the egg retrieval surgery, plust all the ultrasounds. The FSH meds are also the most expensive. Without all of that, an FET is relatively cheap. Good luck! I got PG off of my first FET (unfortunately ended in m/c), so my fingers are crossed for you!!
